At Bogong Horseback Adventures we have been running our award winning tours since 1986.
We offer two hour, half day and full day rides in the Alpine Park from our Tawonga stables. These rides include tuition, friendly staff and great horses.
Our packhorse tours with licensed access to the Alpine National Park and Mount Bogong, a truly spectacular riding landscape.
Our packhorse tours travel from rich mountain valleys to the vast Bogong High Plains and Victoria's highest mountain, Mount Bogong. Our award winning tours combine, great food and wine, fantastic mountain bred horses and friendly, experienced staff.
With a range of tours from three days to seven days, we can cater for riders of all levels of experience. We take care to match horse and rider, offer tuition to those who desire.
Our Spring Spur stables, nestled below Victoria's highest mountain, are an ideal starting point to experience the best the High Country has to offer. The Bogong area of the Alpine National Park features the seven highest peaks in Victoria, vast rolling High Plains, dozens of historic huts, mobs of brumbies, fast flowing mountain rivers, spectacular displays of wildflowers, old goldmines and a network of mining and cattle tracks cut into mountain sides over 100 years ago.
The best way to experience this vast area, most of it inaccessible to 4WD, is to join one of our Packhorse supported tours. Continuing an unbroken tradition dating back to the 1860's, our team can take you on the journey of a lifetime.

During the summer months we also offer 3 to 5 day packhorse adventures onto the High Plains and spectacular peaks of the Alpine National Park.

Directions: From Tawonga, turn east into Mountain Creek Road (opposite The Bogong Hotel), and travel 4 kms. Turn north into Fredas Lane and proceed through the blue gates to the stables. |

Cancellation Policy / Terms & Conditions
Daily trail rides.
24 hour notice is required. Riders must sign a Assumption of risk form before riding. Riders under 18 must be signed in by a responsible adult.
Packhorse Tours
Bookings: All Packhorse Tour bookings must be secured with a $400 deposit and a signed booking form and waiver. Full payment 30 days prior to departure
Cancellation Conditions: Cancellation more than 30 days prior to departure 100% deposit Cancellation 30 days or less prior to departure penalty is 100% of tour cost. NB We will transfer a booking to a future departure at no penalty.
