During this time gold and pioneering were common with the first vineyards established and the arrival of railway to Bright, bringing a rapidly developing tourism industry. Hardwood milling commenced from this time. This week will celebrate these three important decades in Bright’s history, with the key event on February 11.

A wonderful community involvement featuring goods such as local food, produce, arts, crafts, plants, jewellery, sewing goods, buskers and even locally made skincare and cosmetics, all on offer for sale on the day.
Come and join in with the locals and have a relaxing wander around all the stalls. Lots of local eateries join in with fine fare as well. A very relaxed, safe and fun time to be had for tourists, families and locals alike.
This market has around 25 stalls selling local produce and home made goodies, crafts and trash and treasure.

Date: 21 January-12 MarchVenue: Bright Library, 14 Ireland Street This poster display will feature John Bright, a famous Orator in the British Parliament in the mid nineteenth century who is best known for his support for removing the anti-competitive Corn Laws which favoured the ealthy British land holders, who were mainly members of the aristocracy. The posters review major aspects of John Bright’s career and comment on the lack of relevance to the naming of a Gold Mining settlement in NE Victoria.
