The Pub to Pub is a 12km race from The General Store to the Dinner Plain Pub, for skiers of all ages and abilities. The event has been running for over 20 years with lots of people getting involved each year.

Registration takes place at The General Store, Mt Hotham from 9am-10.30am and post event celebration are to be held at the Dinner Plain Hotel from 2.15pm onwards. .

Dinner Plain Alpine Village, located in the spectacular Victorian High Country will play host to the annual Dinner Plain Sled Dog Challenge, to be held over the weekend of August 10th-11th. Australia's original, and most prestigious Sled Dog race will once again see Sled Dog teams from across Australia competing for victory on the world class snow trails of Dinner Plain. 2014 marks an important milestone in the history of the event as organisers celebrate the 21st running of this race. Altitude 5000 would like to invite supporters of the race, both old and new to join the event organisers as they acknowledge the event's great history.

**Dinner Plain is the only Australian Alpine Village where sled dogs are allowed to race for this specific weekend and is under strict permit conditions. Spectators are most welcome, but it is stressed that dogs not competing be left at home.

Held in Falls Creek the Thursday before the Kangaroo Hoppet, the invitational Night Sprints showcase cross country ski racing at its most exciting, featuring the best Australian skiers against elite international Hoppet skiers. Starting at 7pm under lights in the Village Bowl at the top of the Gully Chairlift (open for access), a series of knockout rounds leading to men's and women's finals around 7.45pm. Following at 8pm (weather permitting) is the fantastic Night Show Spectacular with Pete the Snow Dragon, skiing and snowboarding demonstrations, snowmobiles, spinning groomers finish off with a fireworks display.

Held on the 4th Saturday of each August each year at Falls Creek, the 42km Kangaroo Hoppet cross country ski race is one of the 16 international ski races that comprise the prestigious Worldloppet ski marathon series. As well as the 42km event, there are shorter 21km Australian Birkebeiner and 7km Joey Hoppet events to cater for skiers of all ages and ability. The Hoppet provides a unique opportunity for skiers to share their love of cross country skiing and ski the fantastic groomed trails on the spectacular Bogong High Plains of Victoria's Alpine National Park.

Come and enjoy the Mount Beauty Community Market day on the first Saturday of each month from 9am - 2pm. First originating in 1979, the Mount Beauty Community market features a variety of home-grown fresh produce, new and used goods, household items, craft stalls, sausage sizzle and much more!

Come and join in with the locals and have a relaxing wander around all the stalls. Lots of local eateries join in with fine fare as well. A very relaxed, safe and fun time to be had for tourists, families and locals alike.

This market has around 25 stalls selling local produce and home made goodies, crafts and trash and treasure.
