A 12 Hour Mountainbike Endurance event held in beautiful Bright!

Registration - Friday 2pm-late and Saturday 6am-7:30am
Start 8am, Finish 8pm

Free camping for competitors at the Bright Holiday Park (Friday and Saturday nights)

During this time gold and pioneering were common with the first vineyards established and the arrival of railway to Bright, bringing a rapidly developing tourism industry. Hardwood milling commenced from this time. This week will celebrate these three important decades in Bright’s history, with the key event on February 11.

Live music, family games, pioneer demonstrations, market stalls, poetry readings and special pioneer menu.

 Two kilometre swim in Rocky Valley Dam, 80 kilometre bike ride on the Bogong High Plains Road and a 20 kilometre run on the Falls Creek trails - a perfect hit-out at altitude.

A fun community event for local groups, clubs, businesses and residents to come together to celebrate all that the Mt Beauty Recreation Reserve has to offer, and to help raise funds for the playscape's interactive sensory garden project.  Lots of stalls and activities for all ages and interests!

3 Days of music and indulgence, in the middle of nowhere, with the luxury of everything!  Showcasing the best in Alpine food, wine, music, art, culture and history. The weekend will feature great music on two main stages, local food and wine, walks, indigenous tours, films, activities for the kids and much more. 2012 artists include Owl Eyes, Gareth Liddiard, Graveyard Train, Gossling and many more.

Your chance to see the finest International and Australian adventure travel films while swapping ideas with fellow travellers. Tickets will be available on The Adventure Travel Film Festival website from October 2011.

Every Friday go behind the scenes and find out how the Bright Brewery brew local ingredients right in the heart of beautiful Bright.  Finish with a Tasting Tray of 6 Mountain Crafted beers.

Come and enjoy the Mount Beauty Community Market day on the first Saturday of each month from 9am - 2pm.

A wonderful community involvement featuring goods such as local food, produce, arts, crafts, plants, jewellery, sewing goods, buskers and even locally made skincare and cosmetics, all on offer for sale on the day.

Come and join in with the locals and have a relaxing wander around all the stalls. Lots of local eateries join in with fine fare as well. A very relaxed, safe and fun time to be had for tourists, families and locals alike.

This market has around 25 stalls selling local produce and home made goodies, crafts and trash and treasure. 

Held on the second Saturday of each month at the Old School Museum, 9am to 12pm

If you’re a foodie or wine buff, you’ll especially love our market …Bright is situated in the heart of the Great Alpine Valleys; our own little food bowl! We have a wealth of fresh produce – including fresh nuts, fruit and vegetables, freshly baked breads, locally made cheeses and meats.

And, when you need a break from the shopping, sit back and be entertained by a our local performers guaranteed to get you in the groove.  We haven’t forgotten about the children either, they will absolutely love the array of activities hosted by one of our many community group which may include face painting, craft activities, balloon animals or even the egg and spoon race.

Kick back and enjoy a Sunday afternoon surrounded by stunning scenery, a cold local beer and live music every Sunday at the Bright Brewery. Music starts from 2pm, free entry, no BYO food or drink.

Local and regional plant produce (garden vegetables, fresh fruit) freshly harvested from farm and garden. Preserves, cakes and slices. Fresh muffins cooked on site. Tea and coffee as well.

This market is the place to meet the community and your friends at the town's "Open Space".

This poster display will feature John Bright, a famous Orator in the British Parliament in the mid nineteenth century who is best known for his support for removing the anti-competitive Corn Laws which favoured the ealthy British land holders, who were mainly members of the aristocracy. The posters review major aspects of John Bright’s career and comment on the lack of relevance to the naming of a Gold Mining settlement in NE Victoria.
