• Step back in time and follow the Diggings Walk to see the rich gold mining history

Fast Facts

- Wandiligong is located 6km south of Bright.  A village registered with the National Trust to preserve its historical value. Once buoyed by agriculture and the gold rush, Wandiligong is full of quaint little buildings, including miners’ cottages, the Manchester Unity Hall of 1874 and the town’s century-old general store.
- There a many walks around Wandiligong, each rich with history, stories and evidence of history past.  Visit Alpine Park, a recreation reserve since 1877, the original 1884 pavilion was recently rebuilt.  See the first section of the impressive Wandiligong School completed in 1877, home to 300 students during the gold era, and wander past the first official Post Office built in 1885.  No trip to the region is complete without a visit to this beautiful village.
- A must for a fun family holiday activity is a visit the Wandi Maze, Australia’s largest living hedge maze or challenge each other at a round of mini golf, or let the kids entertain themselves whilst you take in the garden and indulge in the tallest piece of cake you’ll ever see.
