Regional food, renowned for its wholesome and comforting nature entices gourmands to sit by our open fires and replenish. Local produce defining our region is abundantly available with offers from farm gates through to cellar doors: a sensory experience for all food-lovers.
Whether you’re after a Middle Eastern treat, Moroccan meal, true Italian cooking or modern Australian cuisine a visit to Myrtleford is a must. Further celebrating the region’s Italian heritage is La Fiera, an Italian Festival that celebrates the multicultural cuisine of the Great Alpine Valleys, with a Food and Wine Festa, Nonni in Cucina cooking demonstrations and the Longest Pasta Lunch.
The Great Alpine Valleys is home to two chef’s hat restaurants. Venture to the Buckland Valley and you will come across Villa Gusto, a chef’s hat restaurant surrounded by manicured lawns and a beautiful view across to Mount Buffalo. Villa Gusto boasts a seasonal menu packed with regional produce that can be enjoyed in the somewhat eclectic but comforting dining room. Simone’s of Bright, boasting a chef’s hat, is based in a gorgeous Victorian style house in the centre of Bright.
