MYRTLEFORD
Myrtleford is a great holiday destination, an attractive commercial centre set against the scenic backdrop of a dense forest mountain range. Myrtleford’s fields grow timber, walnuts, beef and grapes, and the town’s big events are the annual street market in January, the Myrtleford Festival (formerly known as the Tobacco, Hops and Timber Festival) in March and the La Fiera Italian festival in May. The latter two events highlight the Italian settlement of the region and features horticulture, wine making and local produce.
Myrtleford is positioned with a dramatic backdrop of Mount Buffalo national park, on the Great Alpine Road between Wangaratta and Bright. Situated by the Ovens River, you’ll also find the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail running through this pretty town. Myrtleford's tag line could be no better suited - Love the Life.
Boasting beautiful river and mountain scenery and a tranquil and picturesque atmosphere- Mytleford is the perfect holiday destination for families who enjoy exploring Mount Buffalo National park, riding along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, swimming or water skiing on Lake Buffalo or BBQ’s at the park whilst the kids explore the playgrounds.
